Mega Panoramas are large images. They are special because their size requires a special viewer. The viewer lets you see the entire scope of the panoramic image and then you can zoom in and scroll around to see details.
You create huge images, often with an horizontal size exceeding 20,000 pixels, by stitching many individual photos together. There are lots of steps in the process of getting from a photo location to an image viewed on a site like this one.
